Who we are

Information you provide

When you subscribe to the newsletter or submit a form, we receive the information you enter, such as your name, email address, and message. We use it to provide the requested newsletter, resource, or response. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter email. Form and website services may also process technical information to operate the site and detect spam.

Advertising and cookies

This site displays Google AdSense ads. Google and other advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies. These may support advertising based on visits to this site and other websites, ad measurement, and fraud prevention. Personalized advertising remains enabled, subject to your choices and applicable consent requirements.

You can manage personalized advertising through Google My Ad Center and learn about Google’s data use at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Other ad partners may offer their own choices; see YourAdChoices for participating companies. Where a consent or privacy message is shown, use its options and the privacy-settings link to review or change your choices. Blocking or deleting cookies in your browser may affect site features.

Analytics and service providers

We use website statistics and measurement tools to understand visits, content use, and newsletter-form performance. These tools may process page views, device and browser information, identifiers, and approximate location. Hosting, email, form, security, and analytics providers process information needed to deliver their services. Google’s Privacy Policy and Automattic’s Privacy Policy describe their practices.

Comments and accounts

If you leave a comment, the comment form information, IP address, and browser information may be processed for moderation and spam detection. Approved comments are public. An email-address hash may be sent to Gravatar to display your profile image. Comments and their metadata may be retained to support follow-up discussions. If you have a site account, its profile information is stored for account administration; a password-reset request may include your IP address in the reset email.

WordPress may use cookies for comment-form convenience, sign-in, account security, and display preferences. Comment convenience cookies can last a year. Login cookies normally last two days, or two weeks with “Remember Me”; display-preference cookies can last a year. Logging out removes login cookies.

Embedded content and external links

Videos, podcasts, social-media content, and other embeds may connect to third-party services. Those services can collect information, set cookies, and recognize you if you are signed in to them. External shops, print services, and linked websites follow their own privacy policies. Publicly accessible images may contain embedded metadata.

Your information and choices

You can contact us to ask about personal information you have provided, request a copy, or request correction or deletion. Some information may need to be retained for security, administrative, or legal purposes. Newsletter subscriptions can be ended through the unsubscribe link. We retain information according to its purpose, such as handling requests, maintaining accounts and comments, and operating the site. Service providers may process data in countries other than your own.

We may update this policy as the site or its services change. The date above shows the latest update.
