Music From the Doctor’s Office is my music project, created alongside the ordinary moments of appointments, waiting rooms, and hospital stays. These tracks grew out of time that might otherwise have passed without something to show for it.
I started this channel while dealing with ongoing health issues. A lot of these tracks were written in waiting rooms, during appointments, and in hospital stays.
For example, most titles come from things I hear in the moment, a phrase a nurse says, a medical term on a chart, a word drifting in from the hallway. That’s why the names can be odd, and sometimes they make me laugh.

A title can offer a small glimpse of the moment behind a track without explaining the whole piece. Some names come from a passing phrase; others carry the language of the place where the music began. Of course, you are welcome to listen without knowing that background, too.
Photography and Music
Photography and music are both parts of my creative life. For instance, a photograph gives me a way to pay attention to what I see. Making music gives that attention another form. This page brings the listening links together, while the rest of the site explores the experience of making photographs.
